Australian business VOIP providers that suit a 1 to 20 seat business, filtered on
what actually decides the choice: contract terms, real monthly cost, and the
conditions each provider buries below the headline price.
8 providers, 7 with a published AUD price.
Provider data last checked: 2026-08-27 to 2026-09-02.
Matches
Meets every requirement you set, cheapest published price first.
Matches, but the price is not published
Meets your requirements on everything we can check, but the
provider publishes no Australian dollar figure, so it cannot be compared on price.
You will need a quote.
Does not match
Ruled out by at least one requirement above. Shown so you can
see what you excluded and why, not hidden.
No provider in this list meets every
requirement. Loosen one filter, most often the budget, and try again.
Worth knowing: Fully component/usage-based. The $0.55/extension figure is NOT a seat price -- a geographic number ($3.30/mo), calls (11c/call or /minute), and features like IVR/voicemail ($1.10/mo each) must be added to reach a real total. Displaying $0.55 alone in a comparison table would be misleading without this context attached.
Plan
Component/usage-based (no named tier)
What the price includes
extension fee only -- number, calls and features all billed separately
Contract
unknown, not confirmed in research -- verify before launch
Worth knowing: The $1/extension headline price excludes call rates entirely -- not an all-inclusive seat price. Real monthly cost depends heavily on call volume.
Plan
P.A.Y.G (CrazyPBX Hosted PBX)
What the price includes
9c local/national, 7c/minute mobile, 25c 13/1300 -- calls not included
Contract
month-to-month
Minimum
none, prepaid, no early-termination fee
Handsets
Priced separately from the plan
Other plans
Everyday $5/extension/mo (local/national included), Business $15 (adds mobile), Insane $20 (adds 13/1300); separate SIP plans from $0.50/trunk/mo PAYG up to Crazy 5 at $149-149.95/mo (5 outbound/10 inbound lines).
Worth knowing: Flex includes only 1 concurrent call per licence. Complex (CAT-C style) number-porting estimates vary across SIPcity's own material -- one section says ~6 weeks, another 8-12 weeks -- needs editorial QA before quoting a firm timeframe.
Plan
Flex
What the price includes
PAYG -- 8c/minute local fixed, 12c/minute mobile, calls not included
Contract
month-to-month
Minimum
none disclosed, prepaid, no early-termination fee
Handsets
Priced separately from the plan
Other plans
Cloud Connect $19.99/user/mo (AU calls included), Connect Plus $24.99/user/mo (adds BYO SIP device support), Teams Connect $24.99/user/mo (Microsoft Teams calling, requires separate M365/Teams licence).
Worth knowing: This no-lock-in price is for the PAYG/BYO hosted service only. The MaxoPhone handset-included bundle is a separate product with a 24-month contract and $728.75 minimum charge -- do not conflate the two when displaying a single headline price.
Plan
Everyday PAYG (Hosted PBX)
What the price includes
10c local/national, 13c/minute mobile, 22c 13/1300 -- calls not included
NTKComms has an unproductive Maxotel referral relationship (zero conversions to date, per Dan 2026-08-27) -- included here on the same factual footing as every other provider, not specially placed.
Worth knowing: True minimum monthly configuration is closer to $12.90 once a $2 local number, $5.95 user licence and $4.95 device licence are added to the $10.90 base plan. No setup fee, no early-termination fee.
Plan
PAYG Starter (Hosted PBX)
What the price includes
10c local/national, 6.9c/minute mobile, 25c 13/1300 -- calls not included
Contract
month-to-month
Minimum
1 month
Handsets
Priced separately from the plan
Other plans
Also offers Unlimited Australia ($20.90/user/mo), Unlimited Australia Plus ($30.90/user/mo), and separate SIP Line plans from $1.50/channel/mo.
Worth knowing: On the 24-month 'included handset' options ($35-$40/mo), early cancellation triggers BOTH a service early-termination charge ($13 x remaining months) AND a separate handset buyout ($7-12 x remaining months depending on handset). One DID is compulsory at $0.40/mo extra. Handset delivery is a further $14.95/device if a handset option is chosen.
Plan
Extension Plan (softphone only)
What the price includes
standard Australian fixed and mobile calls included
Contract
choice of month-to-month or 24-month
Minimum

Online order exists but provisioning is described as assisted, not fully unattended self-serve.
Worth knowing: Provisioning is sales-led. Setup and equipment-return costs were found to vary by contract in wave-2 research but the exact minimum term was not confirmed -- do not display a contract-length claim until verified.
Plan
BizPhone (desktop handset included)
What the price includes

TPG-branded material has also shown $29.95 standard/cordless and $49.95 premium tiers.

Sales-led provisioning, not pure self-serve -- must be marked accordingly in the UI, not presented alongside the fully self-serve providers without distinction.
Worth knowing: No AUD figure is published. Re-verified 2026-09-02 by the Phase 2 freshness check: the AU pricing page loads and offers an AUD selector but exposes only USD amounts; the parent /au/products/ path, /au/pricing/ and the vendor sitemap were also checked and none publishes Standard/Pro AUD pricing. Do not display a dollar figure for Dialpad. Other terms confirmed same date: fees exclude taxes; subscription and one-time services are invoiced in advance while porting fees are invoiced in arrears with no published amount; if Dialpad terminates for an uncured breach or non-payment, all remaining fees for the service term become payable immediately. Teams integration is limited to Connect Pro/Enterprise and requires a Microsoft Teams Phone licence. The public uptime SLA is Enterprise-tier only. Pro requires a 3-user minimum. No general setup fee is disclosed.

Trial/purchase flow is self-service, but the current AUD price to show is not reliably confirmed -- see price_verified below.
Every headline price on this page is the provider's own published figure for one user
per month, and almost none of them is what the bill comes to. Call rates are usually
charged on top, number rental is usually separate, and several providers split the
seat into a user licence plus a device licence. The caveat shown on each row is the
specific thing that provider adds, taken from its own pricing page on the date shown.
Handsets are separate from the plan for every provider here that publishes a BYO price.
Where a provider offers a handset-included bundle, that bundle is a different product
on a different contract, and its price is not the figure shown above.
Common questions
Is this list every VOIP provider in Australia?
No. It is a shortlist of providers that suit a 1 to 20 seat Australian business and publish enough detail to compare honestly. Larger enterprise platforms and providers that only quote through a salesperson are deliberately out of scope.
Why does one provider show no price?
Because the provider does not publish an Australian dollar figure. We check each pricing page rather than estimating, so a provider with no published AUD price is shown as quote-required rather than given a guessed number.
Are these prices the real monthly cost?
They are the provider's own headline figure, which is rarely the whole bill. Call rates, number rental, user and device licences and handsets are commonly extra. The caveat on each row states what that specific provider adds on top.
Do you get paid if I click through?
No commission is earned on any provider in this tool. One provider, Maxotel, has a referral relationship with us that has produced no conversions, and it is listed on the same factual basis as every other provider with no ranking advantage.
