Grandstream GRP2634 Review — Australia 2026

The GRP2634 is Grandstream's mid-range Professional phone from the carrier-grade GRP series. Four SIP accounts, 8 BLF programmable keys, a colour screen, and zero-touch provisioning via GDMS. It is the Grandstream equivalent of the Yealink T33G for mid-range SMB deployments, and the correct mid-range model to specify when a Grandstream platform is the preference.

Who is this phone for?

The GRP2634 is the right choice for mid-range Grandstream deployments. It sits above the GRP2602P (2-line entry) and below the GRP2670 (12-line flagship), covering the 4-line general staff desk market with BLF key support that the entry models lack. Buy it for: standard staff desks in Grandstream deployments, offices that need BLF visibility without paying for a flagship phone, and businesses standardising on the GRP carrier-grade series where they want a step up from the entry GRP2602P. For businesses choosing between Yealink and Grandstream at mid-range, the GRP2634 and Yealink T33G cover similar ground. The decision is usually made at a system level -- if you're on a Grandstream UCM or already have GRP hardware in the office, the GRP2634 is the natural mid-range choice. If you're starting fresh, both perform equivalently for standard SIP call handling.

Build quality and design

The GRP2634 follows the same clean GRP series design as the GRP2602P but with a wider base to accommodate the 8 BLF programmable keys. The 2.8-inch colour screen is clear and readable in standard office lighting. The BLF keys have colour LED indicators (green/red/orange for available/busy/ringing) which are visible from a normal desk working distance. Build quality is solid and consistent with the GRP series. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports are standard at this tier. The phone is wall-mountable if needed. Overall the design is modern and professional without being particularly distinctive.

Call quality on Australian NBN

The GRP2634 supports G.722 HD audio and OPUS, matching the codec range of the Yealink T33G. On a well-configured NBN connection with QoS enabled and SIP ALG disabled, call quality is excellent. Grandstream's GRP series phones are well-tested with AU SIP infrastructure. GDMS zero-touch provisioning works with Maxotel and other managed AU SIP providers that support Grandstream provisioning templates. For manual provisioning, standard SIP credentials (server, username, password) are configured via the web interface at the phone's IP address. The GRP2634 is AU-retailer stocked but with fewer retailers than the Yealink T33G. UMart and MegaBuy are the most consistent AU suppliers. Maxo Telecommunications (the AU distributor) also carries stock and can be a useful source for bulk orders.

Features

  • 8 programmable BLF keys -- double the GRP2602P's 4 keys. Sufficient for monitoring 8 extensions simultaneously, covering most SMB team-visibility requirements.
  • 4 SIP accounts -- handles 4 simultaneous SIP registrations. In most AU deployments, 1-2 are used per phone, but 4 provides flexibility for shared lines or direct inward dialling configurations.
  • GDMS zero-touch provisioning -- Grandstream's Device Management System allows mass deployment from a cloud portal. More centralised than Yealink's RPS for IT teams managing large multi-site deployments.
  • Dual Gigabit Ethernet -- PC passthrough at full Gigabit speed.
  • GRP Security Suite -- SRTP, TLS, 256-bit AES encryption included as standard across all GRP phones.

What works / What doesn't

Pros

  • 8 BLF keys with colour LED -- good visibility for team monitoring at mid-range price
  • GDMS zero-touch provisioning -- preferred for IT teams managing multi-site Grandstream deployments
  • Full GRP Security Suite (SRTP, TLS, AES-256) -- carrier-grade security as standard
  • Dual Gigabit passthrough -- full PC speed on shared port
  • OPUS codec support for variable NBN performance

Cons

  • Limited AU retailer availability compared to Yealink T33G
  • No Amazon AU listing -- single-unit purchases require AU retailer order
  • No Wi-Fi or Bluetooth -- cabled connection required
  • 2.8" screen is functional but smaller than T46U or GXP2170

Australian pricing and where to buy

The GRP2634 has limited StaticICE presence in AU compared to the GRP2602P and GXP2170. UMart and Maxo Telecommunications carry it in AU. If you cannot find AU stock, contact Maxo Telecommunications directly as the AU Grandstream distributor. Pricing typically sits around $99-$149 AUD for a single unit when in stock. Note: the GRP2634 does not have a verified Amazon AU listing. Single-unit purchases may need to go through a Grandstream reseller or directly via UMart.

Verdict

The GRP2634 is the right mid-range phone for Grandstream-platform deployments. The 8 BLF keys and colour screen make it a meaningful upgrade over the GRP2602P for any desk where extension monitoring or regular team call management is needed. For businesses choosing fresh without a Grandstream commitment, the Yealink T33G is a functionally equivalent alternative with better AU retailer availability. The GRP2634's advantage is in Grandstream-specific deployments where GDMS zero-touch provisioning and platform consistency are priorities.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Grandstream GRP2602P and GRP2634?
